FAQs — Carpet & Flooring Questions Answered | Haymills Carpets Birmingham

Question 1

Do you supply and fit, or just sell carpet?

Accepted Answer

We offer a complete supply-and-fit service. We'll visit your home to measure up, help you choose the right carpet or flooring, and our own fitters will install it to a high standard. We also offer supply-only if you have your own fitter.

Question 2

How long does carpet fitting take?

Accepted Answer

A typical room takes 1–2 hours to fit. A full house can usually be completed in a day, depending on the number of rooms and complexity. We'll give you a realistic timeframe when we quote.

Question 3

Do you offer free measuring?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we offer free home measuring across Birmingham and surrounding areas but T&C's apply. One of our team will visit at a time that suits you, measure every room accurately and provide a no-obligation quote.

Question 4

What types of flooring do you sell?

Accepted Answer

We stock and fit a wide range of flooring including carpets, hardwood, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), SPC (stone plastic composite), carpet runners and eco-friendly flooring options. Visit our showroom to see the full range, or browse our flooring page online.

Question 5

What's the best flooring for stairs in Birmingham homes?

Accepted Answer

Carpet is the most popular choice for stairs — it's safer underfoot, quieter and warmer than hard flooring. We stock a wide range of stair carpets and runners, including fitted carpet runners that preserve the look of wooden stairs. Our team can advise on the best option for your home.

Question 6

What flooring is best for a kitchen?

Accepted Answer

Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and SPC flooring are both excellent choices for kitchens — they're waterproof, durable and easy to clean. We stock a wide range of realistic wood and stone-effect designs. Hardwood and laminate are not recommended for kitchens due to moisture.

Question 7

How much does carpet fitting cost in Birmingham?

Accepted Answer

Carpet prices vary depending on the type, quality and size of the area. We offer carpets to suit all budgets, from practical everyday options to premium wool ranges. The best way to get an accurate price is to request a free quote — we'll measure up and give you a written estimate with no obligation.

Question 8

Do you offer free quotes?

Accepted Answer

Yes — all our quotes are free but T&C's apply. We'll visit your home, measure accurately and provide a written quote covering materials and fitting. Call us on 0121 772 7295 or use our online contact form to arrange a visit.

Question 9

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash, bank transfer and most major debit and credit cards. Please ask when you book for the latest payment options.
